Your participation as a member of ULI drives our programming efforts, educational forums, public outreach and advocacy initiatives, and the sharing of best practices in responsible land use in the region.
HOW DO I JOIN A COMMITTEE OR COUNCIL?
Committee applications open every January and committee members’ terms begin each fiscal year in June. Committee applications are now open and you can apply HERE.
Council applications are unique to each Product Council. Click on each council’s page to learn more about what they do and find the link to apply.
The Engagement Committee is broken down into two sub-groups: Membership and Sponsorship. The Membership Committee supports in onboarding new members, assists in outreach to expand our audience, and strengthens our overall member engagement for a better customer experience. The Sponsorship Committee strives to support our work in the Cali-Baja region through annual sponsorship and individual event fundraising.
NEXT is ULI’s affinity group that encapsulates all members aged 35 to 45. NEXT Committee members help organize events and meetings for this group of members.
Our District Council hosts more than 40 programs a year including our signature quarterly breakfast, an annual marquee event, regional project/product tours, and topic-specific sessions. The Programs Committee helps plan and guide our events throughout the year.
Technical Assistance Panels (TAPs) provide expert, multidisciplinary advice to local governments, public agencies, and nonprofit organizations facing complex land use and real estate issues in the San Diego-Tijuana region. TAP Committee members help us plan, organize, and carry out these TAPs.
The mission of the Tijuana Leadership Committee is to enhance the connection between San Diego and Baja California, and increase binational awareness and participation in the San Diego-Tijuana District Council.
UrbanPlan is a project-based learning curriculum unit for high schools, universities, public agencies, and non-profit organizations. This urban planning simulation allows these groups to learn about planning and development, and consider the myriad of complex decisions that shape our built environment. UrbanPlan Committee members help train other volunteers and organize UrbanPlan sessions.
WLI is an affinity-based committee whose mission is to raise the visibility and number of women leaders in ULI and the real estate industry. The group hosts monthly meetings and special event opportunities for any interested ULI member or nonmember. WLI is open to everyone, regardless of gender identity.
YLG is ULI’s affinity group that encapsulates all members under the age of 35. YLG Committee members help organize events and meetings for this group of members.
COUNCILS
The purpose of the ULI San Diego-Tijuana Housing Council is to share resources and best practices on how to create more housing in our region with a special focus on Attainability, Sustainability, Innovation, and Public Policy.
North County Product Council is a group of 20-25 senior professionals who share a common professional interest in addressing the development challenges in North County communities.
Small Scale Infill Development Council is a group of senior development professionals who share a common professional interest in small to mid-size development in urban areas. The group will focus on the nuances and complexities specific to the urban infill typology.
SURF (Sustainability & Urban Resilience Forum) is a collaborative of designers, developers, planners, policy-makers, investors, and analysts unified through their passion for climate-positive design.
