Since our inception, BNBuilders has placed a special emphasis on the construction of highly technical life science spaces. And over the years we have built for numerous leading life science and biotech companies throughout San Diego. These projects have included everything from lab and office buildouts, to pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, to new campuses to house research, development and production.

San Diego continues to be an expanding life science epicenter and BNB has been at the forefront of this ongoing expansion. Developers and life science companies continue to renovate existing buildings and construct new facilities in an effort to increase and modernize R&D and production, as well as attract talented researchers and specialists.
Recently, we have seen an uptick in the conversion of existing office buildings into facilities capable of handling the unique needs and requirements of life science companies. These projects often include wholesale upgrades to the building’s MEP systems, as well as structural upgrades and improvements to the building exterior to attract potential leasers. For example, our teams just completed on such project in Sorrento Valley, a hotbed for biotech facilities.
Additionally, we are working on new ground-up life science campuses in the Sorrento Mesa area, including Pacific Center, a multi-building campus that just broke ground and will ultimately comprise nearly 800,000 square feet of office, lab, and amenity space.

Torrey Pines and La Jolla also continue their dominance as the life science capital of San Diego and BNBuilders continues to work with developers and life science companies to renovate existing spaces and build new ones. Our teams recently turned over Callan Ridge, an approximately 300,000 square foot life science shell and core located in the heart of Torrey Pines. This project features two separate buildings joined by an outdoor central staircase and a connecting green roof.
Outside of life science projects, BNB has also been working with a range of higher education, public, healthcare and tech clients on both new ground-up construction and tenant improvements. This diversification of projects has allowed us to bring the lessons learned on complex life science projects and deliver value and expertise to clients in a variety of sectors.
