Etkin Student Scholars Program
The Etkin Student Scholars Program is designed to immerse its participants into the thriving real estate industry in the San Diego-Tijuana region. The participants will attend ULI tours, panel events, committees, volunteer, and network with ULI members to enhance their scholastic endeavors and learn the benefits of ULI membership.

Apply HereThe ULI Etkin Scholars program introduces undergraduate and graduate students to the resources available with a ULI membership. Through this program, ULI San Diego – Tijuana will provide students a welcoming and concrete introduction into ULI knowledge at the local and national levels, with funding support, free ULI student memberships, creative programming, networking, and learning opportunities throughout the academic year of their scholarship.

About the ULI Scholars Program:
- Fosters future leaders in commercial real estate and related fields: planning, urban design, community and economic development, law, construction, historic preservation, architecture, landscape architecture, and more.
- Introduces undergraduate and graduate students to the benefits of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
- Improves students’ understanding of the professional roles and disciplines that contribute to best practice and innovation in real estate and land use globally.
- Connects students to their local ULI District Council for networking and learning.
Eligibility and Application Process:
- Students must be enrolled in a college or university in Canada, the United States, or Mexico.
- Students ideally (but not necessarily) should be pursuing a career in commercial real estate or related fields, and studying commercial or related fields: finance, architecture, landscape architecture, planning, urban design, etc.
- Students may be in a degree or certificate program and may be enrolled in school full time or part time.
- ULI District Councils will select students to participate for at least a one-year term based on the following:
- Academic standing
- Professor recommendation
- Commitment to the principles of ULI
- Leadership potential
- Commitment to and/or advancement of the Institute’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals
