Women's Leadership Initiative Update

The creation of our monthly virtual series, WLI Happy Hours, proved to be a great success at bringing people together into a safe conversation space. Each month we featured an inspiring leader within our industry and gave members a chance to Ask Them Anything. The discourse that resulted was equal parts enlightening, intimate, educational, and transformative!
We joined forces with SMPS San Diego to host a virtual Leadership Panel over the summer with four powerhouse women in San Diego. Through their experience and discussion, we learned what it means to truly lead with intention, how to build leaders, and how to lean in when faced with different challenges. The gems we collected from this session are priceless and have stuck with us ever since!

Kick-Off Virtual Happy Hour Series: Getting to Know WLI

Learn what the Women’s Leadership Initiative is all about. We will kick off the year by sharing our 2021 Goals and Initiatives, and there will be plenty of opportunity to get involved if you are interested in making an impact! Our Happy Hour Series is a forum for healthy discourse and education around relevant industry topics, issues specific to women in the industry, and career advancement/professional development for all ULI members.

Our amazing WLI Committee members have been working in lockstep the past few months to plan this year’s Leadership Symposium. Our Symposium last year featured an inspirational speaker, Anne Marie Houghtailing, who spoke about how we can advocate for ourselves. This year we’d like to do more by highlighting women in our industry that are actually doing the work and making an impact in their own unique way. Stay tuned for an announcement of speakers soon. And of course, there will be breakout rooms where attendees can interact with our speakers one-on-one, Ask Me Anything style.
