Millennials Now Pushing a Wider Group of Cities Toward Transit-Based Transformation
Metropolises across the country are transforming central business districts into magnets for millennials.
I hope that 2019 is off to a great start. This newsletter is one of several steps we are taking to improve communications and keep information flowing between and within the ULI community and ULI leadership. We will all benefit from a more open, consistent exchange of knowledge and information. We welcome ideas, contributions and feedback to continue to improve your ULI experience.
In the recent State of the City address, Mayor Faulconer pledged the
city’s commitment to continue to tackle the region’s housing crisis with
streamlined approvals, density bonuses, and elimination of parking
requirements in transit priority areas. These bold ideas will continue to
fuel the vibrancy of our region and lead to a more sustainable future.
Over the next year, our program of work will inform, educate, and
highlight the strategies, people and policies that support the city’s vision.
We will examine innovations and strategies that will capitalize on the
opportunities to meet the challenges of tomorrow and lead to a positive
outlook for residents, developers, designers, and policy makers. The
ULI community can look forward to hearing from national and local
thought leaders.
Again, we want to hear from you. Please let us know how we can
improve your ULI experience.
Warm Regards,
Heather Foley
