Housing Product Council

Housing Product Council is a group of 40-45 senior professionals who share a common interest in developing and sharing solutions that address the housing challenges facing the region. The group will meet monthly following a format that ranges from in-person round table meetings, panel discussions, and site tours. All members will actively participate in the meetings and provide feedback on content to the co-chairs who are coordinating the meetings and events. The topics or activities of the meetings will be decided jointly by the group.

The purpose of the ULI San Diego-Tijuana Housing Council is to share resources and best practices on how to create more housing in our region with a special focus on Attainability, Sustainability, Innovation, and Public Policy.

Key Goals & Objectives

  • To serve as a forum for members to gain actionable knowledge and implement innovative solutions so they can build more housing in our region.
  • Cultivate a culture of trust and collaboration among members to help lead the region towards a more prosperous, equitable and sustainable future.
  • A key behind this initiative is to integrate the local activities of the ULI San Diego-Housing Housing Council with those of the national level ULI “initiatives groups” which are collaborating on the agenda for full-spectrum housing, workforce housing, land-use, infrastructure, sustainability, and energy.

Membership

New members will apply for the product council annually in January and generally shall be selected on a first come first serve basis but must meet minimum criteria to gain entrance. To ensure a varied range of perspectives, the council will consist of a diverse group of professionals who work within the San Diego real estate development industry including owners, developers, managers, investors, lawyers, architects, design consultants, and policymakers.

Criteria for Membership

  • The individual must be a principal or key decision-maker at the organization where they work.
  • The individual must be actively involved in some facet of housing development in San Diego County.
  • The individual must be an Associate Member over the age of 35 or a Full Member of ULI.

Housing Product Council membership applications are currently closed. Applications are open annually from January 1st-31st.
