Susheela Rivers is the Office Managing Partner of DLA Piper Hong Kong, Co-Chair for the Global Real Estate Sector, Head of the Real Estate Group and the Hospitality & Leisure Group for DLA Piper in Asia Pacific. She is a solicitor of England and Wales and also admitted in Hong Kong. With 27 years' experience in real estate investments and developments, hotel, retail and mixed use sectors, Susheela has been instrumental in advising on landmark developments throughout the region including China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, Malaysia, Korea, India, Vietnam and Indonesia. With a focus in real estate acquisitions/disposals, financings, developments, leases, hotels and private funding initiatives, Susheela advises international and regional property companies, hotel groups, retailers, private equity real estate funds, investment banks and hospitals on aspects of real estate transactions from structuring the investments, developments, project and investment management, real estate operation to the exit strategies. She transacts also on deals in England. Kristine Li

Acting General Manager, Portfolio Leasing, Henderson Land Development Company Limited

Kristine Li is the Acting General Manager of Portfolio Leasing Department at Henderson Land Development. She oversees the Group’s investment properties in Hong Kong and leads the launch of new retail and office projects, including that of H Queen’s, the first vertical, purpose-built gallery building in Hong Kong. Li holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from The University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University, USA. Prior to joining Henderson Land, Li worked in the investment banking industry. She currently serves on the executive committee Urban Land Institute, and is a member of The Y.Elites Association, Hong Kong CPPCC Youth Association, Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation, and Union Hospital Charity Program Ltd. Li is also the founder of HART, a not-for-profit art initiative under Henderson Land with a mission to foster collaboration and community value through a sustainable culture of creativity. HART is dedicated to the activation of Hong Kong’s creative community through diverse programming, including the operation of HART Haus, a studio incubator for local-based creative talents, as well as HART Foundation, which runs community-based arts education and outreach for the under-resourced in Hong Kong.

James Wong

Executive Director, Hon Kwok Land Investment Co., Ltd

James Wong is the Executive Director of the Chinney Group. The Group’s four publicly listed Hong Kong subsidiaries: Hon Kwok Land (0160.hk), Chinney Investments (0216.hk), Chinney Alliance (0385.hk), and Chinney Kin Wing (1556.hk) are focused on high-tech Engineering, Construction, Trading, Investments, and Real Estate. The businesses range from building their own 80-storey Hon Kwok Tower in Shenzhen to installing the air traffic control radar at the Hong Kong Airport. This family business was founded by his great grandfather in Nanjing in the 1920’s to build China’s railway system. He split his childhood between the US, Canada, and Hong Kong. After graduating from the University of Washington with his BA (with Honors), he went on to earn a Master’s Degree from the Florida Institute of Technology in Information Systems Engineering as well as a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. He is a Phi Kappa Phi member and an advocate for Lifelong Learning. He is a member of the California Bar as well as a licensed California Real Estate Broker. He is also a LEED Green Associate. Before joining his family business in 2010, James held positions variously as a lawyer on Toyota’s eDiscovery team in Torrance, California, and as a tax lawyer at Baker and McKenzie (Los Angeles/Hong Kong) and Price Waterhouse Coopers (San Francisco). He is married to Lisa and has two kids Cameron and Samantha. He served as a delegate to the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference for Jiangsu Province until 2018. In addition, he serves on the Board of Trustees of the Florida Institute of Technology (otherwise called NASA U) where he is an adjunct professor teaching Business and Healthcare Law and has Distinguished Alumni honors. Currently he holds a position as a member of the Executive Committee of the Urban Land Institute in Hong Kong. He is also the Vice President of the Hong Kong Huskies. He was formerly the Treasurer of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Southern California Chapter, as well as a Governor on the Board of the American Club of Hong Kong. He is one of the founders of the Seattle I-District Asian Street Fair (now in its 35th Season) and created Seattle’s first-ever Computer Dating Dance in 1983. His MENSA memberships dates from 1980. David is an architect by training but has been working across all parts of property development for almost twenty years. Lisette van Doorn

Chief Executive Officer, Europe, Urban Land Institute

As chief executive of ULI Europe, Lisette van Doorn is  responsible for the development of the Institute’s activities across the region, including its renowned pan-European conferences and over 250 local meetings and events across 14 countries. She is also responsible for the ULI Charitable Trust, which raises money to advance ULI’s mission and philanthropic activities across Europe. Van Doorn joined ULI from LIRE, her own consultancy business, which advises international institutional real estate investors and fund managers on strategy, organisational optimisation and portfolio structuring. Prior to this, van Doorn was country manager for CBRE Global Investors where she managed a €1.6bn portfolio of assets in Italy and fund manager of two shopping centre funds (€ 1.3 billion) with assets in Spain, Portugal and Italy. Before joining CBRE Global Investors, van Doorn was founding chief executive for INREV, the European association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles for four and a half years. She started her career at ING Investment Management, where she held account manager and assistant controller positions before being made managing director of research & strategy for ING Real Estate Investment Management Europe.

Mr George Kwok Lung HONGCHOY (“Mr HONGCHOY”), aged 58, has been an Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Manager since February 2009 and May 2010 respectively. He is the chairman of the Supervisory Committee of Tracker Fund of Hong Kong (listed in Hong Kong), a trustee of the University of Pennsylvania, an adjunct professor of the Department of Real Estate and Construction of The University of Hong Kong, a member of the Asia-Pacific Advisory Board of International Council of Shopping Centers, a global governing trustee of the Urban Land Institute and an advisor of Our Hong Kong Foundation Limited. He was a member of the Corporate Governance Committee of Charoen Pokphand Group, Thailand from 2016 to 2018. Mr HONGCHOY began his career in New Zealand and has since moved into senior management positions in financial consulting, investment banking and real estate investment. He was named one of Harvard Business Review’s 100 Best-Performing CEOs in the World 2019, the Country Winner of Hong Kong/Macau Region in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 China Award, Business Person of the Year by DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards in 2015, and was also presented with the Director of the Year Award (Listed Companies – Executive Directors) by The Hong Kong Institute of Directors in 2011. Ming Z. Mei is Co-Founder and CEO of GLP, a leading global investment manager and business builder in logistics, real estate, infrastructure, finance and related technology with over US$89 billion of assets under management in real estate and private equity funds. Under his leadership and vision, GLP revolutionized the modern logistics industry by taking an innovative and entrepreneurial approach to growth and value creation and has since expanded into adjacent sectors and new markets. Ming is Chairman of the Investment Committee of Eastern Bell Venture Capital and sits on various public and private boards. He is also an Investor and board member of Value Retail China, a company that specializes in the development and operation of luxury outlet shopping villages. Ming graduated from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the School of Business and Management at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with a Master of Business Administration. Founder & Chairman,KaiLong Group Chairman, ULI China Mainland With over 30 years of real estate experience, Mr. Cheng’s work experience has covered a comprehensive range of activities, including ground-up real estate development, real estate investment, fund management, business consulting, commercial banking operations, liquidity, and interest rate risk management. As one of the key founding members of KaiLong in 2004, Mr. Cheng has built and led the team to become a leading player in Asian Pacific, Greater China and London's vibrant investment and asset management market. Since 2010, KaiLong has established five domestic Rmb funds totaling RMB2.8 billion. The fifth fund, launched in 2016, is the first RMB- denominated open-ended core fund in China, targeting income generating assets with an initial AUM of Rmb3.4 billion and target AUM of over Rmb15 billion. To date, KaiLong has raised a total of 13 domestic and overseas funds and invested over US$3.4 billion in 51 real estate projects. Of these, 30 have already been exited, with excellent risk-adjusted returns. Before joining KaiLong, Mr. Cheng was the General Manager of Shui On Land. He oversaw the development and operations of Rainbow City, City Apartment, and Hangzhou Xi Hu Tiandi, as well as participating in the construction and operations management of Shanghai Xintiandi. Prior to that, Mr. Cheng held various senior positions with Standard Chartered Bank, including Greater China Head of Finance and Risk and Senior Manager of Marketing and Operations.

Chris Luebkeman

Director for Strategic Foresight, Office of the President, ETH Zürich

Chris Luebkeman is the leader of the Strategic Foresight Hub in the Office of the President at ETH Zurich. This recently established Hub is a team which engages a broad range of stakeholders concerning future focused drivers of change. He combines an attitude of pragmatic optimism with curiosity and a deep sense of planetary responsibility to all of his collaborations. Dr Luebkeman’s career to date has spanned professions and geographies. His multidisciplinary education (geology, civil engineering, structural engineering, entrepreneurship and a Doctorate in Architecture) was encouraged by his Mid-Western family of educators. His journey included Vanderbilt, Cornell and the ETH Zurich. He became an academic gypsy teaching Studios on Design and courses on Technology at the University of Oregon, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and at the MIT. He joined the global engineering consultancy Arup in London to lead the Research and Development group in 1999. He became a corporate intrapreneur by founding the Foresight, Innovation and Incubation teams. He established the Drivers of Change program and is proud to have been accused by the Guardian to have a mindset “in league with the future”. He is deeply passionate about curating constructive dialogue, insatiably curious, relished the opportunity to discover the opportunities which will be created by change and, perhaps most importantly, to evolve positive solutions to the profound challenges we face today. For twenty years he travelled the globe sharing his observations and insights by leading projects focused on the future for Arup, Arup’s clients and for many of the world’s leading institutions. For example, he has spoken at TED, hosted conversations at, and for, WEF and keynoted dozens of conferences around the world. He is a member of the nominating committee for the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize, the external advisory Board of the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore and of the Brain Trust of the Climate Music Project.

Group Managing Director, Nan Fung Development Ltd.

Vanessa is the Group Managing Director of Nan Fung Development Ltd., managing the Group’s Hong Kong property division. She is also the Founder of The Mills – a revitalization project of transforming the Nan Fung Textile Mills into a global innovation techstyle destination comprising of art, start-up incubator and experiential retail. Through The Mills project and her experience in working for AECOM as a Landscape Designer as well as a part-time lecturer at HKU on City Branding, she hopes to inspire the younger generation and push Hong Kong’s leadership potential beyond the status quo. She is a convener of NarrativeHK, an initiative promoting positive attitude among her generation in envisioning the future of HK. She co-founded Quo Kefir Believers, a natural probiotic health food company, and the co-owner of HK’s first CrossFit gym, CrossFit Asphodel. Vanessa obtained her Master in Landscape Architecture at Harvard University and Bachelors in Molecularand Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Kwon Ping Ho

Executive Chairman, Banyan Tree Holdings Ltd

HO Kwon Ping is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings and Laguna Resorts and Hotels, and Executive Chairman of Thai Wah Public Company. All three family-owned companies are listed in Singapore and Thailand. He is also the founding and current Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Singapore Management University, Chairman of The Singapore Summit and a non-executive Director of Diageo, the UK-listed spirits company. Educated in Tunghai University, Taiwan; Stanford University, California and the University of Singapore, he was the Economics Editor of the Far Eastern Economic Review in Hong Kong before joining the Thai Wah family business and then starting his own companies. Among various awards, Mr Ho has received the London Business School Entrepreneurship Award; CEO of the Year at the Singapore Corporate Awards; CNBC Travel Business Leader Award ; Distinguished Alumnus Award from the National University of Singapore; and Lifetime Achievement Awards from the American Creativity Association, China Hotel Investment Summit, Australia Hotel Investment Summit. Honoured for his contributions and accomplishments in the hotel industry in the Asia Pacific region and globally, Mr Ho is the only two-time recipient of Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific - HICAP’s Innovation Award (2003) and Lifetime Achievement Award (2019) in its 30-year establishment. For his services to the country he has been decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal and the Distinguished Service Order by the Singapore Government. Mr Ho has also been conferred honorary doctorates by Johnson & Wales University and from Hong Kong Poly University. He is the author of two books: Asking Why reflects his journey in journalism and entrepreneurship over a period of forty years, and includes articles commissioned by The Straits Times; while The Ocean in a Drop: Singapore in the next Fifty Years is a compilation of public lectures he gave as the Inaugural Fellow of the SR Nathan Lecture Series, named after the Sixth President of Singapore. Mr. Ho is married to Claire Chiang, Senior Vice President, Banyan Tree Holdings. They have three children – two sons and a daughter and welcomed their first grandchild in 2015 as well as second and third grandchildren in 2018.

Christina Gaw

Managing Principal & Head of Capital Markets, Gaw Capital Partners

Christina Gaw is a Managing Principal of Gaw Capital Partners and in charge of global capital markets activities. She works closely with limited partners relating to capital raising and new product developments. Since 2005, Gaw Capital is a real estate private equity firm and has raised six commingled funds in Asia and three US funds, alongside other global separate account mandates within the real estate space. The firm also manages value-add/opportunistic funds in Vietnam, a Pan-Asia hospitality fund and a European hospitality fund. The firm has close to USD$ 25.8 billion in AUM as of Q1 2020. She also serves as Executive Director of Pioneer Global Group. Prior to joining Gaw Capital, Christina has over 16 years of investment banking experience at Goldman Sachs and UBS as a Managing Director, with responsibilities as Head of Asia Equities Distribution and as Head of APAC Capital Introduction team within Prime Brokerage. She has deep experience in covering some of the largest institutional investors globally. Christina is also active in community and educational sector capacity work in Hong Kong. She is a board member of InspiringHK Sports Foundation, finance committee member of Hong Kong International School, corporate member of the Cheltenham Ladies College UK, executive committee member of the St. Paul’s Co-Ed College alumni association (HK), school supervisor for TWGHs S. Chief Executive Officer, Data Centre and Chief Corporate Strategy Officer, CapitaLand Limited

He Jihong is the Chief Executive Officer, Data Centre of CapitaLand Group. She provides leadership to grow the Data Centre asset class that will enable CapitaLand to ride the growth of the digital business in the new economy. Jihong is concurrently the Chief Corporate Strategy Officer of CapitaLand Group. She identifies strategic business focus areas and works closely with businesses in formulating corporate strategies to ensure long-term sustainable business results for the Group. She is also responsible for identifying new business trends and establishing new platforms for the Group. Jihong is a member of the CapitaLand Executive Committee Prior to joining CapitaLand in July 2019, Jihong was the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Ascendas-Singbridge (ASB). Under her leadership, the company expanded its footprint outside of Asia-Pacific and established its presence in the United Kingdom and the United States through multibillion-dollar portfolio acquisitions. He is a recognised authority on land administration and planning matters and is very much involved with a series of initiatives designed to improve the quality of life in Hong Kong and to enhance the built environment for the benefit of future generations. He has also participated in a number of major asset acquisitions and disposals, particularly in Asia and Europe and provided strategic advice to institutions and family offices looking to move into new markets. In July 2018, Mr Brooke was elected as the Asia Pacific Chairman of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), of which he is also a Lifetime Trustee. ULI’s mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. Mr. Brooke is also a keen advocate of the importance of innovation and technology here in Hong Kong and was closely involved with the establishment of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, joining the Board in May 2001 and leading the development of all three phases of Hong Kong Science Park until he stepped down as Chairman in June 2014. Koon Hean Cheong

Chief Executive Officer, Housing & Development Board

Dr Cheong Koon Hean is the CEO of the Housing and Development Board (HDB) overseeing the development and management of some 1 million public housing flats in 26 towns/estates. She introduced a new generation of public housing towns that are well-designed, community-centric, sustainable and smart; and also developed a comprehensive R&D framework to develop a more sustainable built environment. Dr Cheong was also the CEO of the Urban Redevelopment Authority from 2004 to 2010 and Deputy Secretary of the Ministry for National Development from 2001 to 2015. She has contributed extensively to urban planning, urban design and conservation plans as well as to real estate policies in Singapore. She was a key driver of major development projects including the Marina Bay city extension, Jurong East Regional Centre and Paya Lebar. She also led the master planning of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City. Dr Cheong is currently on the Boards of the HDB, the National University of Singapore and is a Council Member and former Deputy President of the International Federation for Housing and Planning. She was also formerly on the Boards of the Urban Redevelopment Authority, Jurong Town Corporation, Jurong Port, National Heritage Board and was a global board trustee of the international Urban Land Institute. In addition to being a Fellow(Life) of the Singapore Institute of Architects and a Fellow of the Institute of Planners, Dr Cheong has served on various expert panels including the World Economic Forum’s Real Estate and Urbanisation Global Agenda Council, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and is on the advisory committees of the National University of Singapore’s Architecture and Engineering Faculties. She is also the Chairman of the Nominating Committee of the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize and is the Tan Swan Beng Endowed Professor in Nanyang Technological University. Amongst others, she was awarded the Silver, Gold and Meritorious Service Medals for outstanding public service, conferred the University of Newcastle’s Convocation Medal and honorary doctorate for professional excellence and the 2010 International Women Forum’s Women Who Make A Difference Prize. In 2016, she became the first Asian to be conferred the JC Nichols Prize for Urban Visionaries by the Urban Land Institute and the Lynn S Beedle Lifetime Achievement Award by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. In 2018, she was appointed the SR Nathan Fellow by the Institute of Policy Studies, NUS. Dr Cheong has degrees in Architecture (First Class Honours and University Gold Medal, University of Newcastle), a Masters degree in Development Planning (University College London) and has completed the Advanced Management Programme (Harvard Business School).

He serves on the Management and Investment Committees and directs the Investment Strategy Group, which analyzes capital markets, regional economies, and property markets. Ms. Stephanie B. Y. Nicholas Brooke who has lived in Hong Kong for the last 40 years is a Chartered Surveyor by profession and a Justice of the Peace (JP) and the Chairman of Professional Property Services Limited which is a specialist consultancy, based in Hong Kong, providing a selected range of advisory services across the Asia Pacific Region.
